Wine & Roses, a family-owned business, was a boutique combination flower shop and liquor store – “a unique shop where the scent of the rose meets the aroma of the finest wine.” I had a variety of responsibilities at Wine & Roses and was thoroughly involved in all aspects of the business, which included administrative tasks; staff scheduling; point-of-contact for high-revenue corporate accounts; updated and monitored the e-commerce website; created company marketing materials (i.e. brochures, flyers, postcards, signage); and coordinated weekly and specialty wine tasting events. I was responsible for the planning and design of email blasts for upcoming events, new inventory, and everyday/seasonal promotions. I secured coverage of events by local news outlets, responded to media inquiries, and kept staff informed on all events, promotions, and logistics.
