Garden Café

The Garden Café was a cozy, family-owned cafe, “where friends become family.” Located in New Milford, New Jersey, the “Café” served a variety of specialty coffees, breakfast items, soups, salads, sandwiches, desserts, and more. The Garden Café was the ideal gathering place where friends and family in the community could gather together for a casual meal. In addition to assisting with the opening and development of this family-owned business, I handled a great deal of tasks as Promotions & Events Manager, including designing the website and marketing collateral (i.e. menus, brochures, flyers, and signage). I helped to plan and produce various events, including our annual Oktoberfest. I crafted a variety of cross-promotions in collaboration with Wine & Roses, a combination flower shop and liquor store, to coordinate aspects of both family-owned businesses. In the late Spring and Summer months, the Garden Café held live entertainment nights for which I coordinated the talent; marketed the events on the website; designed and sent email blasts; and created and distributed flyers. I secured coverage of our events through local news outlets and blogs, responded to media inquiries, and kept staff informed about current and upcoming events and promotions.
