DETAILS

The 21st Century Children’s Nonfiction Conference is an annual, three-day children’s nonfiction publishing conference. Attendees include professionals in the children’s nonfiction industry – authors, illustrators, publishers, librarians, digital developers, and educators. It is the ideal event where professionals can learn about what’s new in children’s nonfiction, cultivate new connections, and join conversations. I have had the pleasure of assisting with the development of this conference since its inception, and watched it grow over the past four years. I designed and developed the conference website and work consistently with the President and Director of Communications of the Conference’s management consulting firm, Star Consulting, Inc., to create a marketing calendar for the current year’s conference. I execute our plans by designing a vast assortment of marketing materials, including bookmarks, postcards, direct mailings, brochures, and each year’s program journal. I created and manage the Facebook and Twitter accounts. I design and assist with drafting press releases and email blasts to announce conference updates, such as faculty and programming announcements; intensive and workshop descriptions; registration launch; and more. I have also attended the three-day conference, annually, to provide on-site support for each day’s schedule of workshops, intensives, and social events.
